Age rating and mature content
ESRB rates Hellraiser: Revival Mature 17+. Its descriptors include Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content and Use of Drugs. The game's current Steam USK field lists 18.
What I checked
The ESRB product record and current Steam content fields were checked during this 14 October 2026 review. Ratings are regional labels, not interchangeable global age certificates.
Regional ratings
ESRB's own record directly establishes M17+; this is no longer based only on retail badges. Eurogamer.de reports publisher confirmation of USK18, and the current Steam data supplies USK required_age 18 for both game and demo.
A PEGI database record was not verified for this review. Check your regional store's displayed rating rather than inferring a PEGI result from ESRB or USK.
What mature content is described
Steam's developer notice describes gore, torture, consensual mutilation, drug and alcohol abuse, tobacco, mature language and non-explicit consensual sex. Narrative themes include suicide, domestic abuse, BDSM and addiction.
The ESRB summary also describes sexual material and violence in gameplay and environments. These warnings matter even when a trailer or screenshot is less explicit. The demo has its own mature-content notice.
- Nudity and sexual themes are part of the game's content warnings.
- Body horror and mutilation are central, rather than occasional isolated scenes.
- For platform-content questions, see Saber's censorship statement.
Streaming and video
Saber's FAQ says there is no streamer mode that changes game content. It asks creators to enable 18+ restrictions and a sexual-themes label where the publishing platform provides one. Edited footage can still fall under that platform's restrictions.
Questions
Is it scary?
It is sold as survival horror with the content list above. I will not score fear.
