Ending explained

What I checked
I am following Wikipedia's plot, edited through 13 October 2026, not a forum theory. Sunny gives birth to an ascended Hell Priest and admits she agreed to that birth to join the Cenobites and to steer Aidan. The Fallen makes the last offer. Stepping through is the Cenobite ending. Staying is the human ending.
What I take from the sources
The publisher calls this a new story in Hellraiser canon. The ending is about whether Aidan accepts the offer. This story interpretation does not place the game after the separate 2022 reboot.
Our reading of Sunny's bargain is that Aidan's rescue goal becomes a question of his own consent. Remaining in the apartment rejects the offer; following the Cenobites accepts the transformation. That interpretation is based on the cited plot and documented actions, not an additional official ending label.
- Human After All: the opening closes, Aidan stays.
- Experience Beyond Limits: Aidan crosses before it closes.
- The plot's Leviathan imagery does not itself establish another playable ending.

Do I need every collectible to understand it?
No. The choice does not check collectibles.
