Genesis Configuration solutions
Five story locks require the Genesis Configuration to match a shaped slot. Change the shape and rotation of each half independently; a correct shape in the wrong orientation will not fit.
What I checked
The five patterns below summarise GamesRadar's illustrated solutions, checked on 14 October 2026. PlayStation's developer interview confirms the box-shaping gate mechanic.
How to fit the box
Interact with the slot to enter the configuration puzzle. Select each half, cycle its shape and then rotate it until the outline matches the socket. Use the game's on-screen controls, which can differ by platform.
- At a statue gate, insert the missing hand, head or tongue before configuring the box.
- Match the first half's outline and rotation.
- Switch to the second half and match its separate outline.
- Confirm the fit. If it is rejected, check rotation before cycling to a different shape.

When each lock appears
Sunny's pillar is reached during Free Sunny's Soul. The hand follows Bruno's mansion; the head follows the first statue gate; the tongue follows the well-block area. The factory shrine sits by the elevator on the route to Bruno and Marlowe.
The box also grants combat and environmental powers. Those powers do not replace the required statue pieces. For moving blocks and walkways, use the platform guide.
